I became interested in Christian Science several years...
I became interested in Christian Science several years ago, when a high school friend invited me to visit her Sunday school class. I had no need of physical healing at that time, but from my first attendance in this class I felt that I had found a religion which was logical.
The fact that Christian Science is a preventive as well as a curative of all discord is a source of much gratitude, for in reviewing my experience over these years I find that many ills have threatened but have gained no headway, and have faded out of my consciousness through the realization that these errors had no more power or presence than, in belief, I gave to them. Christian Science has worked a great change in my disposition and character. Whereas before I was cynical and thought it smart to be hard and to incline toward artificial values, now it is my sincere desire to bear witness to God by being and doing good.
I desired to stand for Principle in making a choice of friends and recreation while attending a university, and found the way to do this made easy through my obedience in supporting the Christian Science organization there. At first the argument of lack of time to attend the services, and the thought that there was not much to be gained from doing so, came to me, but as I continued to attend, I found among the congregation other young people working toward the same goal. The friendships which were formed, and the inspiration which was received in working and playing with these Christian Scientists, have continued since graduation.
