Entertaining Angels

I will have guests today;
My house of consciousness
Is cleansed; and through
My opened window streams
The sunshine of God's grace.
This is a lovely place;
The light of revelation gleams
Upon my treasures old and new;
"The cherub, wisdom," notes "the proper guests"*
I entertain today.
Each guest a holy thought
Will bring to me,
Since Science holds the key
To all that each will speak;
For truth and joy and patience meek,
Michael of strength, and quiet humility,
And that habitual guest, sweet industry,
And Gabriel of ever-present Love unsought,
I'll greet today.
Sing in my garden place, O joyous bird,
A welcome to the angels of the Lord!
