For the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly...

For the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly I shall always be very grateful. About three years ago, the lesson on "Life" unfolded in my consciousness so that its deeper meaning flooded my thought. There was plenty of time each day to ponder the truth, and it greatly sustained me at the end of that week when would came that my mother had suddenly passed on in a near-by city. A sister, who is also a Christian Scientist, and I were in the home of friends who were also students of Christian Science. It was an opportunity for us to be true to the teachings of our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, by applying Christian Science then and there in the presence of the other students. It was gratifying to be able to say calmly, "Good is her Life, and that cannot go into any grave, for Life is eternal;" and then to know that man "is hid with Christ in God," and is never touched by these seeming erroneous experiences. Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 428), "Life is real, and death is the illusion." This was very helpful. What a joy the Lesson-Sermon was to me that particular week!

Among the many blessings which have come to us during the eight years we have studied Christian Science, one experience will always be cherished, for it came early in my study, and removed all doubt as to the practicability of Christian Science at any time.

My little daughter was invited to a birthday party, given by two children who had attended a Christian Science Sunday School but a short time. A tearful mother greeted us, saying that the little boy had been ill with a fever for a few days, and had not eaten. She asked if we would come in and help them. The child lay on the bed reading Science and Health. It was good to see his reliance on Truth alone.
