Words cannot express my gratitude for the help Christian Science has been to me for many years.

My first healing is a great joy whenever I think of it. I had been sick for several years and nothing seemed to help me, so I had lost all faith in medicine and material remedies. Most of the time I had pain in my thigh, and it was all I could do to walk a short distance on the street. I felt life was not worth living, although I was a young woman.

Just at that time, when I did not know which way to turn, I met an old friend who looked so unusually well that I asked her what she had been doing to appear so well. She told me she had had Christian Science treatment. I was so much impressed that I went to see a friend who was a student of Mrs. Eddy, and asked her to tell me something about Christian Science. I then told her my troubles and asked her to help me, which she certainly did, for I had gone only a short distance on my way home when I felt as though a heavy garment had dropped from my shoulders. I did not realize that I was walking. It seemed as if I were in a different world; and by the time I got home I was so happy that the family noticed it.
