With a heart full of gratitude for all the blessings received...
With a heart full of gratitude for all the blessings received through the study and application of Christian Science, I wish to share these experiences with others.
I have been very grateful for the wonderful unfoldment of the mental concept of things. Trees have taught me many beautiful lessons. When a tree is young, it is best to cut off the lower branches so it will grow taller. Then, too, the lower branches take away the food which is of more value to the top of the tree. So we, too, when we are young in Christian Science, have to cut off the lower branches of false amusement, foolish conversation, and idleness. When we do this we shall grow tall and strong like the trees.
At a time when a forest fire was on all sides of us, we stood still, and by knowing the truth came through safely. I have been protected from snake and insect bites. I wish to tell of a recent healing for which I am most grateful. While playing baseball, coming into the home plate to beat a throw, I ran into another player, and in some way one of my legs turned. For a second I was dazed, then I got up and took my stand for the truth, knowing that there are no accidents in divine Mind. I finished the game, then went to my room and did some reading. I fell asleep, and in the morning the leg was much better, with only a little discoloration around the ankle and no swelling. I worked on this problem for four days, then, on the morning of the fifth day, as I was walking along rejoicing in the beauty of the out-of-doors, something snapped in my knee. The bone had slipped into its right place because of the right change which had come in my thinking.
