Testimony of Healing May 7, 1938 Issue

Merely by reading an article in The Christian Science Journal I was instantaneously healed of three erroneous conditions. One was a physical ailment of seven years' standing, for which I had been treated by many physicians, and which had not yielded to various medicines and X rays, nor to an operation.

After laying aside this Journal, I enjoyed, it seemed to me, my first night's sleep in years. I had been completely healed of insomnia. Not having known normal rest for so long a period I was in a state of utter exhaustion and my nerves were shattered. As a result of this sleeplessness I was strongly addicted to heavy doses of veronal and other sedatives—so much so that I was almost constantly in a dazed mental state. The desire for these entirely left me at once, and I began to lose the gaunt look that had given my friends great concern, and to gain in weight as well.

Looking back, now, I remember it was Easter time when I read these healing truths and, too, the only words I seemed to see were God, Love, and Mind. While I did not seem to understand any part of that which I read, a beautiful peace and joy entered my consciousness; and for two weeks afterward I experienced a strange and delightful lightness of body, and felt as though I were treading on air.
