In 1927, after being under the care of physicians and using material remedies continually for over seven years, I first heard of Christian Science and attended a Sunday service in a Christian Science church. I had always been of an argumentative turn of mind, and had looked into various human philosophies, unconsciously seeking the truth that would explain existence. Listening to the reading of a Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly, the subject of which was "Reality," I was impressed by the logic and the reasonableness of the facts which were being presented, and became convinced that the teachings of Christian Science are true.
The next day I visited a practitioner, and was healed of neurasthenia, dyspepsia, melancholia, and chronic constipation, and they have never returned. An internal growth, for the removal of which I had been advised to undergo an operation, has also disappeared.
Christian Science is indeed the Comforter promised by Christ Jesus, and its faithful application to any problem, of whatever nature, will result in freedom and healing. Of great comfort is the knowledge that whatever is not good is not of God, and therefore is no part of His creation, and hence is not real.
