I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing, though sadly in need of it, but because of the wonderful light this Science threw on the Bible. Notwithstanding this fact, I have had many healings and blessings, and am writing this testimony in order that it may help others.

When a small child, I would develop a sore throat every winter. This condition would leave me very weak, and gradually, as the years passed, it grew more severe, until finally, a few years ago, I was stricken with quinsy. I was then very young in Science and had no means of getting in touch with a practitioner. A member of the family became alarmed and called a doctor, who said that the trouble would repeat itself yearly, as it was doing with him. Then I insisted upon having a Christian Science practitioner. When fully recovered I found that I had been healed of the desire for tea and coffee, of a great sense of despondency, and of a dread of the winter, the last not for any physical reason, but simply because of what I considered to be its depressing qualities. Furthermore, there has been no return of any throat trouble. I have also been healed of inward goiter, chronic catarrh, and several other severe maladies through reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

Just before hearing of Christian Science, I was told by a New York surgeon that it was necessary for me to undergo a major operation for the second time. This I refused to do, preferring to stay as I was rather than to go through suffering such as I had experienced the first time. In this state Christian Science found me, and I am now completely healed of the trouble.
