Benefits from the Sunday School

Many years ago, the writer, when a young girl, entered a Christian Science Sunday School, somewhat reluctantly, owing to early religious teaching. But so convincing to her were the wondrous truths of Christian Science in their practical ability to restore man's God-given joy and freedom, that all prejudice quickly vanished.

Eagerly then the pupil attended each session. Obediently she endeavored to glimpse the spiritual laws contained in the Ten Commandments, the Lord's Prayer, and its spiritual interpretation by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy; the Sermon on the Mount, and the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly—subjects set forth for instruction in the Christian Science Sunday School in Article XX, Section 3, of the Manual of The Mother Church.

Owing to her wholehearted desire to increase daily in the understanding of God as the only presence and power, and of man as made in His likeness, spiritual and perfect, two beautiful healings took place. As a dream that has never been true vanishes, so these difficulties ceased to occupy thought, for she had risen to a healthier, less critical state of thought, and to a nobler outlook on man.
