Soaring

Forgot I seemed, with none to care
What blackness and what grim despair
Became my lot.
O God, have I so sinned, I cried,
That I should be thus sorely tried?
I had forgot.

I had forgot how good God is,
That joy ineffable as His
Is radiant, set
Above all earthly things, a part
Of Love itself. No faithful heart
Should e'er forget.

I'll not forget that God is Love
Omnipotent, and mine to prove.
Surrendering
My will to His, I find release.
It is such hallowed joy and peace,
Remembering.

Remembering, I take His hand.
God is. He's All. I understand.
Quickened, glowing,
On wings of joy I soar and sing
And radiant tribute to Him bring—
In glad knowing.
