I wish to testify to the healing power of Truth as revealed...

I wish to testify to the healing power of Truth as revealed in Christian Science. There are many reasons why I should rejoice, for among other things I have been freed from the bondage of constipation, and from frequent severe pains in the back, the effects of a fall which occurred years before. Help was sought in Christian Science and the healing was complete; there has been no return of the conditions.

One healing which stands out to me more than all others is that of the desire for and the use of tobacco. This habit, to which I had been a slave for over thirty years, was not easy to overcome. Finally, I had a visit with a practitioner, who pointed out Mrs. Eddy's statement in Science and Health (p. 404), "If a man is an inebriate, a slave to tobacco, or the special servant of any one of the myriad forms of sin, meet and destroy these errors with the truth of being,—by exhibiting to the wrong-doer the suffering which his submission to such habits brings, and by convincing him that there is no real pleasure in false appetites." Again, on page 407, she admonishes, "Puffing the obnoxious fumes of tobacco, or chewing a leaf naturally attractive to no creature except a loathsome worm, is at least disgusting." These thoughts, together with closer study of Science and Health and other writings by Mrs. Eddy, brought the healing. The falsity of this appetite was clearly seen and realized, for which I am indeed grateful. To one struggling with this problem, I can truthfully say that there is absolute freedom from this bondage through divine law or Christian Science.

The peace and joy which have come into my life since I have been studying this Science are far greater than I ever thought could be realized. I thank God for our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and for our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, whose thought was sufficiently spiritual to give Christian Science to the world. For membership in The Mother Church and for all blessings which have come to me through this blessed truth, I am indeed grateful.—Arthur Kreamer Wolfe, Haddon Heights, New Jersey.
