The words of Isaiah, "The wilderness and the solitary...
The words of Isaiah, "The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose," have been beautifully manifested in my own experience, for before I came into into Christian Science my consciousness was so filled with fear and foreboding that much of the joy was taken out of life. As I had been brought up with the belief that I was inheriting the ills of a very delicate mother and was spoken of by my friends as supersensitive, when Christian Science came to me in early girlhood there seemed a tremendous amount of error to be overcome. However, I felt right from the first that only Christian Science could save me, and consequently it became the first consideration in my life; and the years of study of the Bible in conjunction with our Leader's works and our authorized literature have brought a rich harvest. Paul said, "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind." My life has been transformed through this wonderful teaching, for fear has been replaced by confidence, trust, and assurance of God's love and power; sickness has given way to health; and an irritable, discontented disposition has been overcome, bringing a deep sense of peace, harmony, and joy.
Amongst the many healings I have experienced have been those of influenza, pyorrhea, deafness, severe and constant headaches, and internal trouble which was healed in less than three days through the study of our textbook.
For many demonstrations of supply, for class teaching, the privilege of active work in our great movement, and for the joy and love Christian Science is bringing into my life and to thousands of others, I wish to express my gratitude.—(Miss) Kathleen Proudfoot, Southport, Lancashire, England.
