Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

A kindly attitude towards Christian Science and Christian Scientists has been manifested by many publishers in printing our Lesson-Sermon excerpts and reporting our Christian Science lectures in whole or in part. Also, some editors have reprinted poems, editorials, and other citations from The Christian Science Monitor.

During the early spring and summer of the past year, your Committee was busily engaged in the relief work of The Mother Church for the flood-stricken people. The funds which were contributed from many parts of the world for the flood sufferers were to a large extent dispensed through the different Committees on Publication and their Assistants in the afflicted districts. This aid has been rendered, we believe, wisely and promptly, and Christian Science is now known in many homes and communities through the loving ministrations of The Mother Church.

As regards the religious press, a contributed article in The Church of Ireland Gazette attacking Christian Science required correction. A letter from this Committee was promptly published in the Gazette. This brought forth anotehr letter from the writer of the article again attacking Christian Science. The Committee's reply was once more promptly published, and the editor thereon closed the correspondence. A letter of thanks and appreciation for the fairness of his attitude was later sent to the editor.
