I did not come to Christian Science primarily for physical healing, as I seemed to be in excellent health at the time Christian Science was presented to me. I was, however, troubled on every side and needed something on which to lean. A dear friend told me of Christian Science, but I was skeptical. I thought it was some sort of hypnotism; however, I consented to see a practitioner. When the practitioner told me God is Love, I knew I had found the truth for which I was practically starving. As I read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I felt new life, strength, and courage coming to my consciousness. It was my constant companion during the day when at work, and long into the night, as I felt that I needed more and more of this truth to sustain me.
During the years that I have been studying Christian Science, I have had the opportunity of helping others to some extent and have had many healings myself, physically and morally. The healing of chronic constipation stands out as one of the most important.
I have had the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school for many years; and also of serving as librarian in a Christian Science Reading Room, for which I am grateful. I have recently had a healing of the sense of financial lack, proving again the power of Truth over error, and I realize that divine Love does supply our needs when we trust His tender, loving care. I am very grateful.
