I wish to express my gratitude through our periodicals...
I wish to express my gratitude through our periodicals for all the good that has come to me through the study of Christian Science. In bringing up a family of four children we have had countless blessings and healings. Measles, chicken pox, scarlet fever, inflammatory rheumatism, financial difficulties, separation, and many other false beliefs have disappeared into nothingness as the light of Truth has been turned upon them.
One healing, which took a period of several years, deserves particular mention. One child, after being in school for a time, was told that she had enlarged tonsils and adenoids, and during the first years in school, anything that occurred was accepted as due to that trouble. The condition became quite aggravated; enough to cause a very serious difficulty in breathing. Work in Christian Science was taken up at various times with only temporary relief. Finally, a friend who was a practitioner became interested in her, and was asked for help. She worked long and earnestly, and there was unfoldment along other lines, such as improved schoolwork and progress in Sunday school, but the difficulty did not yield. Specific work was stopped then, with the understanding that we would talk and work along ourselves. This arrangement was continued until she was taken with a severe pain in her side. Help was called for elsewhere, and for two days there was no relief. Then help was requested from the same practitioner as before. After three days the healing came, and we rejoiced to know that Love does take care of us.
Just after this the child was taken to the school clinic to be examined for glasses, at the recommendation of the school authorities. Work in Christian Science was taken up before we went, and while in that clinic I truly felt the power of Truth to heal. When the doctor examined her eyes he told her that she did not need glasses. A little later she appeared in a school pageant, and when she spoke her lines I realized with much rejoicing that the throat condition was healed. Her voice came out clearly and her enunciation was exact.
