In a report of a sermon in your issue of November 2, there are some misleading statements about Christian Science. Your publication of this correction will be much appreciated. The clergyman is reported to have said that Christian Science is not Christian, and also to have repeated the somewhat threadbare remark that Christian Science is neither Christian nor scientific.

Christian Science is the Science revealed in the Scriptures. It is the Science of Life. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" the author, Mary Baker Eddy, states (p. 107), "In the year 1866, I discovered the Christ Science or divine laws of Life, Truth, and Love, and named my discovery Christian Science." She also said to her followers, "Follow your Leader, only so far as she follows Christ" (Message to The Mother Church for 1902, p. 4).

Did not the master Christian, Christ Jesus, give the measure for all religions and religionists when he said, "By their fruits ye shall know them"? He also said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." Thousands of people throughout the world have been healed by Christian Science since it was discovered in 1866. Their lives, too, have been and are being reformed and made more joyful and purposeful. The great fact is being glimpsed that God's will for all is health, happiness, and prosperity.
