For a long time I have felt that I must in some way...
For a long time I have felt that I must in some way express my great gratitude for Christian Science. When I first heard of this Science, many years ago, our family physician told my husband that medicine could not save me, for there was nothing left to build on, so he gave me up. It seemed to me that every organ of my body was affected, and this, together with a condition of practically complete physical exhaustion, convinced me that I should soon have to leave my four little children. I did believe, however, that if Jesus were here I could be healed, so I prayed to God in the best way I knew, to help me. My prayer was answered, for in a few days a friend came to see me and told me about Christian Science, and later, with my permission, she sent a practitioner to give me treatment. From the very first treatment I felt hopeful; I gained in weight, and gradually was again able to resume my household duties.
I am deeply grateful for this and all the following healings my family and I have experienced through Christian Science. It has been our only physician during these many years. But beyond all these physical healings, I am most grateful to know that God is Love, and that He does not cause His children to suffer.
Since we learned of Christian Science, pleurisy, quinsy sore throat, boils, broken bones, diphtheria, fevers, colds are among the many troubles that have been overcome for us. The children were sent to a Christian Science Sunday School, where they learned the fundamentals of Christian Science, and three of them are now active members of branch churches. Eight of my grandchildren are now attending the Sunday school. Recently I was again lifted out of a serious condition in about three weeks by the same practitioner.
