Permit me to tell of some of the good that Christian Science...
Permit me to tell of some of the good that Christian Science has brought to me in two decades. It was brought into our home while I was a young girl, through the beautiful healing of my mother. This gave me the inestimable privilege of attending Sunday school. A great many times during the past years lessons learned in that period of my life have come back to me with inspiration and guidance. It was the clear thought of the superintendent of the Sunday school that led me to my first position. I have often been grateful for his vision.
My specialty had always been music while I was in school, and I thank God for the privilege of studying in college, where I proved many times the efficacy of Christian Science. Just before my entrance on the stage for my graduation recital, these words sustained me: "'I can of mine own self do nothing,' but 'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.'"
Contrary to my expectations, events led me into the world of business. While I was in need of employment a statement which I had read in a current periodical came as a saving angel: "Unless this thing is consistent with the highest right, I do not want it, and if it is, I can trust God's law to establish it." Holding in thought this truth, I made application for a position which I hoped to secure. Within a few days the employer telephoned me to report for duty, and I have been continuously employed for eighteen years. I am very grateful for a small understanding of God's law, which is always operating to bring us all good.
