I want to express my gratitude to God for all the blessings received through Christian Science; and I should like to give this testimony regarding a remarkable healing I have had.

For a good many years I had felt sick and weak. Five years ago I suddenly became worse; I was in great pain and could not retain any food. After a thorough examination by a physician, which included X-ray photographs at a hospital, I was told that it was a bad case of gallstones. The doctor wanted to arrange with a surgeon for an immediate operation, for he felt a delay was very hazardous; and when I said I would not consent to an operation, he refused to take any responsibility.

However, for quite a while I felt better, though the dozen or more X-ray pictures which the doctor showed me sometimes haunted my imagination. Little by little the bad attacks returned with redoubled force. I could not keep down any food and lost over forty pounds in a short time. I became quite emaciated and feeble. I took morphine, which I had to use daily, for I could not bear the severe pain accompanying the attacks. Then fever aggravated the condition, and I had to take to my bed.
