Giving and Receiving, alias Sowing and Reaping

Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says in "Miscellaneous Writings" (pp. 217, 218), "To the material sense, everything is matter; but spiritualize human thought, and our convictions change: for spiritual sense takes in new views, in which nature becomes Spirit; and Spirit is God, and God is good." In the chapter entitled "Seedtime and Harvest" in "Unity of Good," on page 12, she speaks of gathering "the harvest by mental, not material processes," and says, "The laborers are few in this vineyard of Mind-sowing and reaping."

A student of Christian Science received great help in making her demonstration of supply by pondering the analogy between the above quotations.

A gardener takes a tiny flower seed, or a farmer a grain of wheat, to human sense insignificant, and sows it under right conditions, in good soil, and behold, a miracle! It brings forth many fold, seemingly beyond all proportion.
