My gratitude for Christian Science is unbounded

My gratitude for Christian Science is unbounded. It came to me over three years ago when I had reached a point where I felt that I hated God, a God of injustice as I then believed Him to be.

For nineteen years I had been subject to severe and prolonged attacks of neurasthenia, with its attendant insomnia. Not only was I unable to sleep during these attacks, but I could not rest in my bed at night, having to walk about for hours in a panic-stricken state. I looked forward with dread to the years I might still have to live, and many times wished I could believe that life ended with death, so that I could be finished with it all.

Then I heard of Christian Science and was advised to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I obtained a copy at the earliest possible moment and had not read many pages before I realized, as so many others have realized, that I had found that for which I had been seeking. I shall never forget the night of wonderful peace which followed my first glimpse of the truth that God was not responsible for my unhappy condition; that He is ever-present Love, ever-present good, guarding and protecting me every moment. It was indeed a foretaste of heaven.
