In the May 17 issue of your paper, a reference was made to Mrs. Eddy in the column, "Books and Things."

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, was made a member of the D.A.R. at the request of the wife of a President of the United States. The Victoria Institute of England made Mrs. Eddy a life member.

The Ladies' Home Journal instituted a ballot for the twelve greatest women leaders of the last century. One hundred and twenty-eight thousand votes were cast by women balloters. Mrs. Eddy stood at the head of the list, polling 102,762 votes.

As the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy's teaching has blessed thousands. Of her devoted life of service for humanity the world is well aware. The church she established has branches encircling the globe.

On pages 302 and 303 of "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" Mrs. Eddy writes: "I stand in relation to this century as a Christian Discoverer, Founder, and Leader." She continues, "What I am remains to be proved by the good I do."
