As a small child I had met with two accidents, thereby injuring my head. My parents consulted doctors, and for years I received treatments from them. They said that the drums of both ears were gone, and that as I grew up I should positively and definitely be deaf. About the time I entered high school I began to notice that I had to ask over and over what was said; I caught myself trying to read people's lips when they spoke, and I realized that the thing I had quietly feared for years seemed to be coming to me. I finally withdrew from my friends and spent much time alone.

Then I heard of Christian Science, and we as a family became interested in its study. As I received the healing truth I severed my connections with the orthodox church to which I belonged and became a member of the Christian Science church, earnestly seeking the light. The result was joyous, a complete forgetting of self. When I began to hear normally I do not know, but I awakened to the truth that I could hear and hear well. This healing has been permanent, and I rejoice that the power of God never fails.

I should also like to tell of the healing of a cat. My daughter's cat lost the end of its tail. A member of the family not interested in Christian Science carefully tended the cat, but the wound refused to heal. He finally gave up and declared that the cat was beyond human aid. My daughter had seen repeated proofs of Christian Science, and as she left on her vacation she requested Christian Science help for her cat. It was given, and when she returned the cat's tail was healed and covered with fur.
