Twenty years ago, after studying Christian Science earnestly...
Twenty years ago, after studying Christian Science earnestly for six months, I had a mental and physical breakdown. No one in my family was interested in Christian Science, so when I became unconscious a physician was called. A number of doctors experimented on me, to the best of their ability, finally suggesting my being taken to an institution in another state for observation. After I had had treatment there for two weeks an eminent specialist was called from New York in consultation. How grateful I am that my husband did not accept this specialist's verdict—a hopeless case! I was then taken to another place, where I was expected to become less violent.
A Christian Science practitioner was brought to me, but at that time I seemed unable to grasp her declarations. Later on, the truths which I had gained from my six months' study, previous to this experience, came to me, I put them into practice until I realized that what the doctors said was not the truth about man made in the image and likeness of God. It had nothing to do with me, as His child. Through knowing this I was healed and able to demonstrate my freedom from this institution.
Thirteen years ago a physician who knew my past history, so called, advised me against having another child. But I proved their fears and so-called laws null and void, and I am grateful to say that the child has proved herself an outstanding student through all her school years, and is enjoying perfect health.
