From childhood I was constantly ailing and under the care of doctors. I had more than one operation, the major one being for internal trouble. After I returned home from the last operation, a specialist was called in, and he said I should never walk again.
In 1921 a friend asked my mother if she knew anything about Christian Science, and introduced her to a practitioner. Within a week after the practitioner commenced treatment, I was up and well, and able to walk normally. For three years I was entirely free and well. At that time my father passed on, and this experience so upset my thought that, although I still continued to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, for a time I also read books that were not pure Christian Science. Then I was sick again, this time with ulcers of the bowels, perforation, peritonitis, and other complications. I was in bed for eleven months and suffered much pain. Then I turned wholeheartedly to Christian Science, and sought the help of a practitioner. After a month's treatment I was well again, and able to work at business from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. That was over five years ago, and I have not had a day in bed since.
I have had the privilege of class instruction, and have become a member of The Mother Church and of the local branch church, for which I am also grateful. I could not close this testimony without expressing my gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and thanks to the practitioners who helped me and gave so freely of the love that does heal.—(Miss) Marion Ogden, St. Annes-on-Sea, Lancashire, England.
