For more than twenty-five years I have known the blessing and proof of following the injunction of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, found in the Manual of The Mother Church (p. 47): "Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's' (St. Paul)."

For many years in our home we have demonstrated through Christian Science that God is our only surgeon as well as physician. One of the first healings that came to me was that of a serious injury to an eye, caused by a fall, the eye striking a sharp banister post in such a way that it was pushed out of its socket. This was completely healed within twenty-four hours through the help of a Christian Science practitioner. Another healing that stands out in my thought was that of a badly burned hand, the hand having been immersed in boiling fat. I was alone, frightened, and in great pain, but by steadfastly holding to God as the one power, the one Lawgiver, whom I was daily studying to understand, and by audibly declaring that all is spiritual and not material, I was able to realize that spiritual man was uninjured, and immediately found myself free of pain and of any physical evidence of the occurrence.

There have been many healings in our home: healings of bones broken in an accident, healings of scarlet fever, influenza, and minor ailments, as well as of pneumonia and blood poisoning. To say I am grateful for every healing, spiritual and physical, does not express the depth of love and praise I feel.
