Thirty-four years ago, after a period of doctoring, the verdict was pronounced that I had intestinal tuberculosis, and the only hope held out was that a change of climate might benefit me. The change of climate did no more for me than had the doctors, and I was rapidly losing hope and courage.
About this time Christian Science was presented to me. I knew nothing about it, but I had heard it ridiculed as a faith cure. I read the Christian Science textbook, but it seemed just so much Greek to me; however, it held out the hope of healing, and I persisted in reading it. Finally, the thought came to me that I should give Christian Science just as fair and honest a trial as I had the doctors. I was living on a ranch many miles from a doctor or a town, but I destroyed every vestige of medicine I possessed, and relied implicitly on this Science. My healing was rapid and almost marvelous to those who witnessed it.
