This year the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, convenes on June 8. The By-Law, Article XIII, Section 1, provides for the meeting to be held on Monday following the first Sunday in June. Consequently, the date fluctuates from year to year, from the second of the month to and including the eighth. The meeting will convene at 2.00 p.m. as usual. The doors will be opened in ample time, so that there need be no long periods of waiting, and no crowding.
Admittance cards may be obtained on Saturday, June 6, from 8.30 a.m. until 2.30 p.m., in The Mother Church Extension, and on the day of the meeting, Monday, June 8, from 8.30 a.m. until 2.30 p.m.
Preparations are now being made in Boston for many visitors during the spring, summer, and fall. Visitors come through the winter, but the number is not so great. In 1935, during July and August, eight thousand visitors were shown through The Mother Church edifice. Visiting days are Wednesdays and Fridays from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., but, especially during the summer months when tourists are in the city, many requests to visit the edifice on other days are granted because it is not convenient for some persons to come on open days. On Sundays the edifice is open only for services, but a guide will answer the bell and show visitors through from 1.00 to 4.00 on Sunday afternoons and from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on other days.
