Our Real Possessions

THE Bible records many instances of God's blessings and bestowals. For example, in the seventeenth chapter of Genesis we find this wonderful promise of His everlasting and sustaining care as revealed to Abraham: "I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a strager, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession." To the children of Israel, Canaan was a land of promise. To us it typifies a state of consciousness, free from bondage, discord, or disease, where harmony, peace, freedom, and abundance abound. God's covenant is revealed to all who obey His laws.

Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Solomon were recipients of God's blessings, and this enabled them to express such spiritual qualities as fidelity, obedience, wisdom, and inspiration. They loved God and sought His guidance. Many times they proved God's goodness and the availability of Love's infinite supply. As they sought first "the kingdom of God, and his righteousness," the necessary things were added unto them.

Christian Science fulfills God's everlasting covenant with men. It gives to those who understand and apply its teachings, intellingence, enlightenment, and the wisdom to perceive their true possessions. Then are added to them all those things which are needful for their harmony and well-being.
