One who has been blessed with the privilege of attending...
One who has been blessed with the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School should be everlastingly grateful. For fifteen years I attended this Sunday school, and I am deeply grateful for the love, unselfish, patient, and sincere, expressed by its teachers and workers. Many benefits have been experienced, directly traceable to this teaching.
All through school and for more than ten years in the business world I have proved many of the truths I learned therein. Not one day has been lost through sickness. This is not chance or luck. It is divine protection which surrounds all who think correctly. In Christian Science one learns how to think rightly, and where to go for understanding in working out his problems. I have learned that difficulties must first be solved in my own thinking.
The smoking habit had me mesmerized for several years. It reached a point at which I knew and acknowledged that I was breaking the First Commandment. With the help of a practitioner, the truth that man is not subject to habits of any kind was understood. This was in 1929, when the world gave many excuses for nervousness. I stopped abruptly at a time when I was smoking probably forty cigarettes a day.
