Pray

Pray , frightened one, be calm, and know your fear
For that frail thing it is, and see it flee,
As clouds before the sunshine disappear,
To leave your heart at rest, from bondage free.

Take thou the wings of faith, and soar supreme
Beyond the vale of tears and doubt and pain,
And waken from your troubled restless dream,
To find the morning glow has come again.

Pray, searching one, and lo! the way is there;
In that short space of trusting, God has shown,
From out the mists of darkness, shining fair,
The road which you must take, but have not known.

Rejoice! the clouds roll back, and peace is seen,
Above the darkening night there dawns new day,
The calm of Love is over all, serene,
The storm has fled whilst you knelt down to pray.
