In 1924 I was suffering from tuberculosis of the lungs and had to spend several months in the children's hospital. The doctors and professors told my parents that it was a very severe case, for which there was no longer a possibility of healing, for the tubercles had already reached my eyes, and in any case I should go blind.

However, one of my father's friends told him about Christian Science. My parents were at once willing to turn to this new teaching. The practitioner to whom they were directed poured out kinder and more comforting words than they had ever heard before from anyone. She also lovingly gave me treatment. I began to improve rapidly, and in a short time I was completely healed.

The doctors and professors were very much surprised at the quick disappearance of the tubercles. They could not grasp it, and even now cannot understand it, but we know that nothing can destroy Life.

Nearly ten years have passed since then, and not the slightest trace of the old trouble has appeared. I was even able to have instruction in singing at the conservatory, where I was told that I had very good lungs. My eyes, too, were healed, and have remained well since then without my having to wear glasses.

For this wonderful healing, and for all the others I have had in Christian Science, I am sincerely grateful to God, to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and to the practitioner. I am also very grateful for the Sunday school, which has helped me to gain a better understanding of God and of His creation.
