Seventeen years ago I began to read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, to one who was not able to read at the time. I did not intend to use this Science for myself, although I was facing my fifth operation that year, as the doctor said I had a kink in the bowels which only an operation could remove. Before I had finished reading the book I was healed of chronic stomach and bowel trouble, severe headaches, and neuritis. During the intervening years the truth, as revealed to us by our beloved Leader, has sustained and guided me in every trial. Many discordant conditions including kidney stones, nervous breakdown, and influenza, have been overcome. The last kidney stone was passed over two years ago without the slightest pain.

I was strengthened and comforted after the passing on my wife, and have realized in a measure the meaning of our Leader's words
