In deep gratitude I should like to give praise to God for...
In deep gratitude I should like to give praise to God for all the good received through Christian Science. Ever since this wonderful teaching came into our family, we have applied it to our daily problems. Many diseases, such as measles, mumps, tonsillitis, and erysipelas, have been healed without medicine through Christian Science.
One case I should like to mention in particular. Some time ago our little six-year-old son became ill with pneumonia. The illness was extraordinarily severe. When I found on the second day that my own understanding was not adequate, my husband and I decided to ask for help. It was lovingly given by means of absent treatment. I shall never forget the practitioner's statement over the telephone that "we are never separated from God." A feeling of inspiration came over me and removed the last barrier. The healing took place at once. Our son had gone quietly to sleep during the course of the telephone conversation, and after an hour he awakened refreshed. He jumped out of bed quickly and ran about, a totally different boy, for previously he had not been able to sit up in bed alone. By the end of six days he was as strong and lively as before, and there was no trace of the illness.
I have also solved other problems through Christian Science. It is my daily prayer that I may continue to grow in understanding and become a better Christian Scientist, so that I may express my gratitude not only in words but more and more in deeds.
