It is with a heart full of gratitude that I give this testimony of the healing of our little six-year-old girl. The child seemed languid and complained of a headache and sore throat. I did not ask for help the first day. On the second day I called a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly took up the work. The child appeared to be the same on the third day, but there was a rash. She did not want to go to bed. To comply with the law the practitioner advised me to call a physician and have the case diagnosed. The physician advised putting her to bed, diagnosed scarlet fever, and upon naming the condition he said, "I do not take contagious diseases; you will have to call another physician to attend her." This was on Thursday. On Friday the second physician came and found the child in bed singing. He examined her, said that she was all right, but that he intended to call again Tuesday. On Tuesday when he came, she was playing around the house. He examined her again and said, "She is all right; I will not come again."

It was a wonderful demonstration of the healing power of Christian Science, because I was lovingly protected from the thought of fear when so much of it was expressed all around me. These words kept coming to me persistently: "I am not afraid." The physician said to me: "You are a lucky woman to have such a well child. We doctors don't like these cases. It is one disease for which we have not found a cure." For the help given us by the practitioner and the many blessings we have received from Christian Science, I am truly grateful.
