Love, the Liberator

"This is the first and great command,
     To love thy God above.
And this the second: As thyself
     Thy neighbor thou shalt love."

These lines, learned as a child in a Sunday school, and always remembered, came to their full meaning only when the learner had found in Christian Science the way to think aright. Listening one Wednesday evening to the reading from the textbook about Love and the power of Love to heal, she questioned, How can love to one's neighbor bring healing to oneself, either of mental or of physical discordance? How can Love be the liberator?
