The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Kokomo, Indiana (First Church).

Lecturer: Bicknell Young; introduced by Harry V. Forehand, who said:—

In the Bible we read that man is made in the image and likeness of God, and also that "God is love." On page 140 of the Christian Science textbook is given this corresponding thought: "The Christian Science God is universal, eternal, divine Love, which changeth not and causeth no evil, disease, nor death." This concept of God carries with it a higher concept of man, and makes God an available source of good to all mankind. Christian Science, when fairly investigated, appeals to the thinker because it is logical; it appeals to the one in need of physical healing and regeneration because it reveals to him the power which brings release from illness and suffering; it appeals to the practical man because it meets his daily needs and is demonstrable. Whether one is an experienced student of Christian Science, a beginner, or is unacquainted with its teachings, one will find food for profitable thought in a Christian Science lecture.
