Someone is quoted in your paper as stating that "a Christian Scientist is neither Christian nor scientific." Since this comment has come to the attention of your readers, I shall sincerely appreciate your giving space to the following corrective remarks.

Evidently it is lack of knowledge of Christian Science that is responsible for the above-quoted statement. Christian Science is Christian, for it is based on the teachings and example of Christ Jesus, whose ministry demonstrated the destruction of sin and sickness. One tenet of Christian Science embodies the Scriptural command, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." Therefore, one who practices this Science is a Christian.

Christian Science is scientific, for it is "based on divine Principle, demonstrated according to a divine given rule, and subjected to proof" (Science and Health with key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 341). The truth of this statement has been proved in thousands of authenticated cases in which Christian Science has healed sin, sickness, and discord of every nature. A Christian Scientist therefore demonstrates Christianity scientifically; hence he is both Christian and scientific.
