I am certainly grateful for Christian Science and for what it has done for me and for my family.

Fifteen years ago I became interested in this Science. A daughter, then four years of age, was afflicted with Bright's disease. As I was a nurse, I took her to a doctor, who said that he could do nothing for her, that she might get better or she might get worse. I had already recognized the fact that she was growing worse. My heart sank thinking nothing could be done for her. My mother and father then came to visit us for a few months. They had just become interested in Christian Science, and asked me to study with them. I said that I did not have the time, as my household duties and my babies kept me busy. They finally persuaded me to read the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly every morning. I became very much interested and knew within myself that God is the only Life. My father asked me to try this Science for the baby and I did. Within two weeks she was entirely healed.

The other little girl, then eight months, old, became ill with pneumonia. I had treatment for her also, and she was healed overnight. That put my feet on a solid foundation, for I was convinced that God is the only Physician.
