The question is sometimes asked, What are the results of radiocasting Christian Science church services? An answer is found in the fact that a goodly number of people who are not able to attend the services have expressed gratitudfe for the privilege of listening in to them. Naturally, the most outstanding results from these radiocasts are the many instances of healing that occur as the result of the truth about God and man's relation to Him which is heard in this way.

For example, early in 1930 a man who was an invalid, who was being fed solely through a tube, for he was not able to swallow even liquids, and who was unable to talk and was physically helpless, a man in a mental state, as he describes it, "of blank darkness, and filled with despair," was given up as incurable by physicians. He has written: "This was my condition when one Sunday evening my wife turned on the radio in an adjoining room, not knowing that the radio was turned in on the station over which services from First Church of Christ, Scientist, Seattle, were radiocast. Although barely conscious, I recall having heard the station announcer announce the service. Then followed the regular order of service with hymns. I do not recall the subject of the Lesson-Sermon [in the Christian Science Quarterly]. That which first held my attention was the voices of the Readers, especially the First Reader's, with its calm, strong, earnest, statements of truth from the textbook. The 'angel' which came to me while listening was the Christian Science is of God, that God is Love, just as Christian Science reveals Him, and that evil, including disease, sin, and death, is an illusion of the human mind."

The writer of this letter had known, before his serious illness, something of Christian Science, but it was on this occasion of listening to the radiocast service that hope came into his previously hopeless thought; and he began immediately to respond, and under Christian Science treatment he ultimately recovered wholly from the illness. His testimony of healing appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel about two years after it occurred. And his later statement goes farther and describes how, after further preparation, he began to heal others through his understanding of Christian Science.
