Light

God said, Let there be light, and it was day,
The formless void of night had passed away;
Nor sun, nor moon, nor stars as yet were made,
But Truth revealed gave light that could not fade.
Thus Saul of Tarsus, blinded on the road,
Saw dazzling light which higher wisdom showed;
Thus Peter, James, and John in wonder cried
Before their Lord transfigured, glorified.
I too have glimpsed the vision, dazzling bright,
Beheld the Christ in Science, holy light,
Seen fear and doubt dispelled by guidance sure
Of Love's immortal revelation pure.
