I should like to tell of my first healing through Christian Science
I should like to tell of my first healing through Christian Science. A copy of Science and Health was brought into my home by one who was very dear to me. She told me of how much good she had received from reading it, and said that she was sure it would help me, too.
For many years I had suffered from rheumatism, and at that time was having much trouble with it in my hands. Two fingers had become so badly bent at the first joint that I was unable to put on a glove without first ripping the seam. A physician had told me that there was no help for my condition, and that my hand would always be that way. I did not begin reading the book until some time later, as it did not mean anything to me; but the thought came to me one day that I should read it, as it had been given me with such kind intentions. I had not gone far before I knew it was the truth set forth in a way I had never known before. I read every moment I could, becoming more and more interested until I forgot myself completely.
The second day, while attending to household duties, I put my hand down flat upon the table, and lo, I saw that those fingers were straight. I also realized that I was free from catarrh of the throat, which had been a source of discomfort and annoyance to me for many months. I am grateful that this has never returned, nor have my fingers given me any more trouble.
