Divine Economics
In contrast to the many panaceas set forth for the economic rehabilitation of the world, all of which are experimental and many admittedly only temporary, Christian Science is revealing the divine economics; and its doctrine has been proved by numerous individuals to be sound and practical. It is solving for them the unemployment situation, establishing or salvaging their businesses, and overcoming fear, lack, and inharmony of every kind.
When Jesus said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you," he declared the law of supply. Mary Baker Eddy restates this law in "Miscellaneous Writings" when she says (p. 307), "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies." The ideas of Mind are everywhere present and instantly available to all. An accumulation or lack of these ideas not only would deny God's intelligent government, but would deny infinity or omnipresence, inherent in and constituting the very essence of divinity.
On page 520 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" our Leader also writes: "Unfathomable Mind is expressed. The depth, breadth, height, might, majesty, and glory of infinite Love fill all space. That is enough!" A Sunday school pupil once said, "Of course there could be no such thing as lack, because before it could say, 'I want,' Love would be there saying, 'I AM.'" To infinite, omnipresent good, the law of supply is always operative, the only demand being the demand of perfection. And where can man be but in the presence of Mind, consciously in the midst of divine wisdom and understanding?
