It is with a great sense of love and gratitude that I send this testimony of appreciation for all that Christian Science has done for me, and for what it is doing for the world.
Early in my study of Christian Science I experienced a wonderful sense of courage and protection when two angry bulls which had escaped into our pasture bore directly down on me. There was not a rock or fence to which to flee for protection but I realized that, as Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 228), "there is no power apart from God," therefore there was nothing to fear. First one bull and then the other retreated and, without hastening my steps, I reached the barn in safety.
I have had opportunities to prove the power of God, good, over many different phases of error. Some time ago I was taken with a severe pain in my back one morning as I went to breakfast. I had taken only a few steps when I was obliged to return to my bed, and was confined there for more than a year, getting more helpless all the time. I was not able to get up even for a few minutes without help.
