With a grateful heart I testify to the wonderful healing which I received through Christian Science. For many years I had suffered from a very painful hip disease and stomach trouble, so that I could hardly do any work in the home. Electrical treatment and packs brought relief but not healing. One day a friend drew my attention to Christian Science and brought me a copy of Der Herold. I studied it earnestly, and as I read the pain left me at intervals. I then felt that I needed an interview with a Christian Science practitioner. The latter explained the fundamentals of Christian Science to me, whereupon I borrowed a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which I diligently read. It helped me to understand the Bible, which I had often read without understanding. Fear yielded to divine Love, and the pain gradually vanished from my consciousness. I was healed.

This brought to me an understanding of the words of the ninety-first Psalm: "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust." Only since I have been a follower of Christian Science have I realized what these words mean for mankind. They have given me inner peace and the certainty of protection in divine Love.
