It is with sincere gratitude for the many blessings which Christian Science has brought to me that I give this testimony.
I had a healing of cancer about eight years ago. I had undergone an operation, and three months later another slight operation; then three years after that a third operation. Each time I endured this trial a dear friend presented me with a Christian Science Sentinel; but I did not understand its contents and took no interest in it. However, when I was doomed to a fourth operation, I decided that I would never again undergo that suffering, but instead would see what Christian Science could do for me. I attended a service one Sunday, but did not go again for two weeks, when memory of the helpful service drew me; then I kept on attending. Soon I asked for help from a practitioner, who lovingly gave me treatment. My healing was slow because I did not at first grasp the simple truths of Christian Science; but after taking up the study earnestly I began to learn to love everyone with whom I came in contact, and overcame an irritable temper, for which I am very thankful. I was also healed of rupture, after wearing a truss for more than thirty years. This was discarded after a few months, and I have had no return of the trouble. Also, I was healed of constipation for which I formerly took medicine; but since coming into Science I have never had one drop of medicine.
I am indeed grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," for membership in The Mother Church, for all the activities of the Christian Science Society of which I am a member, for our literature, and for the Reading Room, where we can spend so many peaceful hours. Everything I now enjoy I owe to Christian Science.—(Mrs.)Alice Le Brun, St. Helier's, Jersey, Channel Islands.
