I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science by written testimony. In June, 1926, I was suddenly stricken with angina pectoris. I was put to bed in October, after the verdict was given by six doctors that I should never be able to do any work again and should always have to be very careful not to overdo in the slightest way. In January, 1928, my husband decided we would go to California to see if the change of climate would benefit me. We went by automobile, making the journey by slow stages, taking the extreme southern route.

While I was residing in an apartment in Hollywood, a lady across the hall brought me some copies of the Journal and Sentinel. I read them in fear, doubt, and trembling, because all that I had ever heard of Christian Science was from the standpoint of severe criticism and prejudice. I was afraid to trust it, or anyone connected with it. However, I did purchase a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and read a great deal, although I did not seem to grasp its meaning in the least.

In the meantime my husband had returned home, and I was so homesick, so filled with fears and doubts, that I resolved to return home. Through my study of the Christian Science textbook I gained in strength upon my return, so in April I cast aside all my medicines, and not a drop has since passed my lips.
