The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Warrington, Lancashire, England (Society).

Lecturer: William Duncan Kilpatrick; introduced by Frank Stones, who said:—

More than six years ago I attended a lecture such as this, more, I think, out of curiosity than real interest, but with an open mind. Previously, for nearly twenty years I had been a member of an orthodox church; but I had never been able to understand God aright; in fact He seemed to be shrouded in mystery. At the lecture referred to I obtained a better understanding of divine Mind than ever before; and I was able to understand the declaration of Christ Jesus, recorded in the fourth chapter of John, when talking with the woman of Samaria, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." After the lecture I sat into the early morning, pondering the lecturer's statements. As a result I took my stand for complete reliance upon God, and from that day I have never taken any material remedy. Every condition has been satisfactorily met in Christian Science.
