The first healing in our home was of a case of adenoids which had persisted for over four years. Christian Science was mentioned to my mother on a Sunday afternoon, and a Christian Science Sentinel was given her, which she read from cover to cover. The following Wednesday morning we noticed that I was entirely healed of the adenoids. At the time this seemed like a miracle to us, as we had been planning to have them removed surgically that very week. My mother was also contemplating an operation that week for a tumor which she had had for eight years. Through Christian Science she was healed within two weeks. These demonstrations were experienced without the aid of a practitioner. About five years later my mother was healed of a goiter which she had had since childhood.

In December, 1931, I became very ill with a condition which had threatened me from early October. In spite of much faithful study the healing did not take place, so a Christian Science practitioner was called and treatment given. Although improvement was seen almost immediately, discouragement crept in because one thing would disappear only to reappear in another phase; and the problem seemed very stubborn. Finally the error yielded, and for the first time in two weeks I was able to eat, and the extreme sense of weariness and weakness left. I cannot express the joy and gratitude I felt for this demonstration and for the faithful work and patience of the practitioner.

These healings, which are cause for much gratitude, are only a few of the many that we have had, and I am sincerely grateful for them. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, for the literature, the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and for class instruction.
