A sermon recently radiocast, as reported in the Star, contained reference to what the speaker regarded as "foolish religionists who say 'there is no reality in sin, sickness, disease, fear, or death.' "

I should appreciate the opportunity of pointing out for your readers the message of hope Christian Science holds out on this point, so very important to all mankind.

A dictionary definition of "reality" is "state or quality of being real," that is, "actually existing, true." Christian Science teaches that God is omnipotent, is good, and is the only creator; also that, as stated in the Bible, "all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine [God's]." That is to say, all that really exists, or is true, or has reality, belongs to God and is of God. What, then, of evil, or the evils referred to? They are surely not of God, nor of His creation; hence they exist only as phantoms of darkness that disappear with the coming of the light of Truth. The beloved apostle says, "Perfect love casteth out fear." Obviously, perfect love does not cast out or destroy one iota of God's creation, or a single element of real being.
